Christantus Uche Ignites Dominant Palace Victory at Shelbourne.
Despite entering their maiden continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal straight passage to the last 16, particularly following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This occasion offered a platform for some of Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second consecutive match.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their league season were no match against a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

Youngster Adam Wharton came close minutes later, fizzing a long-range shot over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after bursting into the box, but the referee dismissed the protests.

The home side were hanging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to avoid a booking for a couple of agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
